I undersigned, Oana Cristea Grigorescu, president of the Romanian group AICT.Ro and theatre critic, wish to submit my candidacy for a new term as a member of the Executive Committee of AICT/IATC.

As an EXCOM member during the period 2024-2026, I coordinated the international conferences organized by AICT-IATC and, in this capacity, I organized and led the international conference co-organized by the International Association of Theatre Critics (IATC) and the Doctoral School of the Faculty of Theatre and Film, Babeș-Bolyai University, Cluj-Napoca, Romania. Also, as an EXCOM member, I took on and am coordinating the organization team of this year’s AICT/IATC World Congress in Craiova, May 20-25, 2026.

My involvement in the work of the EXCOM AICT/IATC and the projects I started during my first term as a member, which I wish to see through to completion, encourage me to run for a new term. For my future term as an AICT member, I propose to identify new institutional and academic partners for organizing future AICT international conferences that will broaden the thematic scope of the conferences and provide us with an overview of local thematic, aesthetic and theoretical trends. Similarly, locally, I want to continue and complete the process of uniting those two Romanian groups into a single section. Through my presence in EXCOM, I intend to continue facilitating the participation of our section’s members in international conferences and their contribution with articles to Critical Stages magazine. In my opinion, an EXCOM member is a pivotal figure in communicating the Association’s activities to their national section and vice versa, in terms of knowledge and stimulating collaboration within the Romanian theatre community. I will contribute to promoting our association’s presence on the international theatre scene and, as a theatre critic, to reflect the dynamics and diversity of performing arts through my reviews.
