The AICT/IATC is offering a workshop for young theatre critics to be held from 16th to 20th September 2026 (arrival on 15th September, departure on 20th September) in Tbilisi, Georgia during the Tbilisi International Festival of Theatre Georgian Showcase.

You can now apply as soon as possible for one of the 20 places offered, 10 for the French-language group and 10 for the English-language group. To apply, you need to be a professional critic aged between 18 and 35 years old. All applicants are invited to send in

  • A filled out application form
  • A brief CV
  • 3 examples of article published in the press
  • A letter of recommendation from the head of the AICT/IATC section in your country (if your country has a national section of the AICT/IATC or is part of a regional section)

All these documents should be sent in a single PDF file, if possible.

Please note the following:

  1. It is the candidates who must send in their applications, not the AICT/IATC section leaders.
  2. Make sure you are fluent in English or French.
  3. Must fill out the application form.
  4. Must indicate whether it is the first application or to mention previous participation.
  5. The condition for acceptance to the workshop is a commitment to write a text that will be published in the home country, or possibly in Critical Stages.

The organizer provides:

  • Accommodation for 5 nights,
  • Meals,
  • 20 hours of training.

Accommodation in double rooms is provided by the AICT/IATC Georgia Section and the Festival organisers.

Transportation: Participants pay for their own transportation to Tbilisi. Airport transfer will be provided by the festival.

The monitors are:

  • For the English language group: Hana Strejčková (National Section, Czechia)
  • For the French language group: Mirella Patureau (National Section, France).

A final list of all selected participants will be announced as soon as possible, to allow everyone to make their travel arrangements.
