Thanks to your continued trust and the support of fellow Executive Committee members, AICT/IATC–Thailand Centre successfully hosted AICT/IATC’s first events in Southeast Asia last year: the hybrid conference “trans-” and a Young Critics’ Workshop, both presented during the Bangkok International Performing Arts Meeting (BIPAM) where AICT/IATC critics from 13 countries also exchanged ideas with a wide range of performing arts professionals. Recordings of the conference are now available on YouTube, and selected papers will be published this June in Critical Stages/Scènes critiques, whose latest issue also features reviews by young critics.
As your representative on the Executive Committee, I have participated fully in all meetings—online and in person—and served on the Thalia Prize Subcommittee while participating in activities by other Asian sections of AICT/IATC.
Standing for re-election, I reaffirm my commitment to strengthening AICT/IATC’s inclusivity, diversity and cross-cultural engagement. I also aim to broaden our activities through diplomacy and thoughtful use of technology, ensuring that critics and performing arts professionals worldwide can connect more meaningfully. AICT/IATC–Thailand Centre is preparing to host another Young Critics’ Workshop and Conference next year and plans to support colleagues in Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand in establishing national sections to expand the association’s global reach.
Thank you, dear AICT/IATC colleagues, for your continued confidence in me—and in AICT/IATC–Thailand Centre.
