Martin Morrow, is the President of the Canadian Theatre Critics Association, which shares representation of Canada with l’Association québécoise des critiques de théâtre. A long-time member of CTCA, Martin is a Toronto-based arts journalist and theatre critic, and a two-time winner of Canada’s Nathan Cohen Award for excellence in critical writing. He began his career in Calgary, where he was chief theatre critic of the Calgary Herald (1988-2000) and Fast Forward Weekly (2003-06), also serving as the Arts & Lifestyle Editor of the latter publication. In Toronto, Martin has served as an Arts Producer for the CBC, Canada’s public broadcaster; as a film and theatre columnist for The Grid, an internationally award-winning alternative weekly; and since 2010 has been a regular theatre critic for The Globe and Mail, Canada’s national newspaper. His writing has also appeared in Canadian Theatre Review, The Stage (U.K.), Toronto Life and other publications. In addition, he is the author of Wild Theatre: The History of One Yellow Rabbit, a popular chronicle of the seminal avant-garde Canadian theatre company.
