The IATC is offering a workshop for young theatre critics, which will take place from 6 to 11 June, 2019 in Kazan (Republic of Tatarstan), thanks to the support of the Galiasgar Kamal Tatar State Academic Theatre XIV International Theatre Festival of Turkic Peoples “Nauruz”. There will be two working groups, one in English and one in Russian. If you are interested, you must apply as soon as possible, to be one of the 10 candidates accepted in each group. For this, you must be a professional critic aged between 18 and 35. All candidates are invited to send their application form with a brief CV (just one page!), 2 or 3 samples of articles already published in media and a letter of recommendation from the person in charge of the AICT/IATC section in your country (if your country has a national IATC section or is part of a regional section). All these documents must be sent in a single PDF file, if possible. Please note the following:
1) Candidates must send their application themselves with their CV, not have them sent by the IATC/AICT sections.
2) Make sure you are fluent in the English language.
Accommodation will be in shared rooms, and lunches and dinners are included. You will receive a free pass for all the shows and for the discussions that will take place during the Festival. You will be picked up at the airport.
The candidacies will be accepted until May 6, 2019. They must be sent to the director of workshops, Jean-Pierre Han: jp.han@free.fr . A final list of all chosen participants will be announced as soon as possible, to allow time for preparing your trip, and getting, if needed, a visa for Tatarstan, which is one of the Republics of the Russian Federation.
The English language working group will be monitored by the Russian critic Alexandra Dunaeva. The Russian language group will be monitored by the Russian critic Nyjaz Iglamov.
NB: Getting a visa for Russia always takes time. If you apply quickly, and are accepted before April 10, 2019, we can send to the persons in charge of the Festival a photocopy of your passport in order to facilitate your request.
