Born in 1970, Mr. Ragıp Ertuğrul received his B.Sc degree in Statistics from Mimar Sinan University and his M.A. degree in Theatre Criticism & Dramaturgy from Istanbul University. Ragip is a playwright, writer and director, and he has been an art columnist and a critic for newspapers and drama magazines since 2005. He has been one of the permanent jury members of Theatre Awards since 2003. He is the President of International Association of Theatre Critics (IATC) Turkey Section (TEB). His areas of expertise includes dramaturgy, theatre criticism, criticism on media, cabaret theatre, art management, art sponsoring and critical thinking. He won “The Best Theatre Critic Award” at the 75th Anniversary of Cuneyt Gokcer Theatre Awards at Hacettepe University in 2011. His first novel “Soytarice” (based on the life story of Turkish theatre actress Mrs. Dilek Türker) was published in October 2016.
