Our City Our Stories: A Decade of Hong Kong Plays

Supported by the Hong Kong Arts Development Council, “Our City Our Stories: A Decade of Hong Kong Plays (2003-2012)” is a publication edited by IATC Hong Kong. It is regarded as one of the most significant editorial events of Hong Kong theatre and a major publication in Chinese theatre. The research for this project started in 2015. Since then, almost two thousand original Hong Kong plays, written between 2003 and 2012, have been considered. The selection committee, consisting of eleven members (professional critics, practitioners and cultural journalists from Beijing, Taipei, Macau and Hong Kong), has selected twenty-eight representative works by twenty-seven playwrights. Two thematic seminars will followed the book launch, during which the committee members and playwrights are going to engage in dialogues about the past, present and future of playwriting in Hong Kong.
